gnucash help not working

problem description

The gnucash help button is not working within the application. An error or received that stated the gnucash-docs package may not be installed. However; the docs package is installed.

gnucash: 2.4.13 kde: 4.11.5

solution

install yelp (Help browser for GNOME) using your package manager

on gentoo...

# emerge -av --quiet gnome-extra/yelp

once installed on my system, the help immediately worked without even restarting gnucash.
